Hôtel Campanile de Châteauneuf-Grasse (centre pour mineurs isolés)
Hôtel Campanile, Châteauneuf-Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes, 06740) · National
According to France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Var-Actu (2023), the only hotel in Châteauneuf-Grasse, a Campanile, was rented from 15 March 2023 by the association Entraide Pierre Valdo and turned into an accommodation centre for unaccompanied foreign minors, funded by the Alpes-Maritimes département (reported at about €2.4m for 2023). The mayor criticised it as a 'business social' with no consultation, seven hotel staff lost their jobs, and residents lodged repeated nuisance complaints and held meetings. Note: outside the three target regions (Alpes-Maritimes), included as the clearest named-chain-hotel conversion with sustained local opposition.
