Background

The site sits at Duinenweg, Oisterwijk. It is run by the COA (Centraal Orgaan opvang asielzoekers), the Dutch government’s asylum-reception agency. Timeline

  1. Jan 2022

Emergency reception at holiday park De Reebok

Oisterwijk agreed with COA to host up to 100 asylum seekers and status holders at the former holiday park De Reebok on the Duinenweg.

  2. Jan 2025

    Reception extended

Although reception was originally meant to end and the park returned to nature, the agreement was extended as the need for emergency housing remained; the latest agreement was set to run to around October 2025.

Cost

Dutch asylum reception is funded by central government through the COA. At an illustrative benchmark of about €184 per person per night for emergency reception (noodopvang), the 6 people recorded here on 13 August 2025 imply roughly €403k per year. This is an order-of-magnitude figure for context only, not a site-specific invoice — emergency reception typically runs around three times the cost of a regular centre.
