Noodopvang Rekken (Panovenweg)
Since October 2023 the COA has run a small reception centre for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers at Panovenweg 14 in Rekken, initially for 44 young people. In May 2025 the municipality of Berkelland agreed to extend and expand the facility, raising capacity to a maximum of around 50-80 places and continuing operation for several years (reported as up to October 2033). The expansion was made conditional on extra management measures around traffic safety and incident handling, with an independent bureau (Bureau Beke) monitoring safety and liveability; no specific incidents were reported.

Cost
Dutch asylum reception is funded by central government through the COA. At an illustrative benchmark of about €184 per person per night for emergency reception (noodopvang), the 2 people recorded here on 13 August 2025 imply roughly €134k per year. This is an order-of-magnitude figure for context only, not a site-specific invoice — emergency reception typically runs around three times the cost of a regular centre.
