Noodopvang Wierden (Ypeloweg)
Since March 2023 the COA has used a site at Ypeloweg 16 in Wierden, where 16 chalets behind a farmhouse housed up to 56 unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (AMV), many transferred from emergency reception in Olst-Wijhe. In April 2024 an incident at the location left one minor needing hospital treatment for scratches and led to a second minor being arrested; the COA said an initial suspicion of a stabbing was not the case. The user agreement with the property owner runs out and the AMV reception is set to close on 1 March 2026.

Cost
Dutch asylum reception is funded by central government through the COA. At an illustrative benchmark of about €184 per person per night for emergency reception (noodopvang), the 56 people recorded here on 13 August 2025 imply roughly €3.8m per year. This is an order-of-magnitude figure for context only, not a site-specific invoice — emergency reception typically runs around three times the cost of a regular centre.
