40 documented sites in the Spanish reception system, grouped by the categories the system itself uses. Each links to a sourced profile. Much of Spain's reception capacity is delivered by NGOs under public funding rather than in state-run centres, so the named sites here are the state tier rather than the whole system.

CAPI, state reception centres for international protection (formerly CAR) · 4

The long-standing state centres, run directly by the ministry.

CREADE, reception and referral centres · 4

Opened from 2022 for large-scale arrivals, principally people displaced from Ukraine.

CETI, temporary stay centres in Ceuta and Melilla · 2

CATE, arrival attention centres · 8

First contact points after a sea arrival, for short stays of up to 72 hours. Not reception proper, and their figures are not added to reception totals.

Largely the Canary Islands, where tourist accommodation was contracted during periods of high arrivals.

CIE, immigration detention · 7

NOT accommodation. A CIE detains people pending removal from Spain, and its places are never counted as reception capacity.

Housing provided through acción concertada, where organisations place people in ordinary rented flats, is deliberately not mapped. Those are private homes, and the same exclusion applies to UK dispersal housing and to Germany's dezentrale Unterkünfte.
