Reception centre in the former Canarias 50 infantry barracks in the La Isleta district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, opened on 15 January 2021. Initially planned for 1,190 places and reported at up to 1,680, its capacity was reduced in 2023 to a maximum of 992. The camp suffered flooding in its early months. Spain's Supreme Court recorded in judgment STS 197/2023 that state reception facilities including Canarias 50 were managed by the public company TRAGSA, with security provided under contract.
