The quayside camp on the fishing dock at Arguineguín, widely referred to in the Spanish press as the "muelle de la vergüenza". At its peak in November 2020 it held more than 2,000 people on the dock itself, in conditions a judge described as deplorable. Emptying it is why hotel complexes across Mogán and San Bartolomé de Tirajana were block-booked, and why the Plan Canarias camps were built. It is no longer in use; first-reception processing in Gran Canaria moved to the CATE at Barranco Seco.
