Clare Lakelands
Clare Lakelands is an IPAS (International Protection Accommodation Services) direct provision centre in the former Lakelands Hotel on the main street of Scariff, Co. Clare. The Department of Children appears in the gov.ie County Clare 2025 inspection collection, which publishes an inspection report for the centre. According to the Clare Echo (May 2023), the long-closed hotel was refurbished to accommodate 77 international protection applicants across 26 bedrooms in single, double and bunk-bed configurations for families, couples and single females, with full-board catering and 24-hour on-site staffing. The site is leased and operated by Dromboy Ltd, with the building owned by Tellhill Ltd; the operator had previously provided accommodation for Ukrainian beneficiaries of temporary protection from April 2022 before the international-protection contract.
