According to RTÉ, The Irish Times and the Irish Examiner, around 60 international-protection applicants were housed in tents here from about 1 May 2024; a fire occurred on 13–14 April 2024, violent clashes and arrests followed on 25 April 2024, and the site was vacant by March 2025. Fire at the disused property
Per the Irish Examiner, a fire broke out in the early hours of 13–14 April 2024 at the disused property; the fire brigade extinguished it and the scene was preserved for technical examination. Arson was not officially confirmed.

Clashes and arrests; four charged
Per The Irish Times, clashes occurred on 25 April 2024 as Gardaí sought to admit workers: fires were lit at the entrance, three patrol cars were damaged and incapacitant spray was used. Six people were arrested and four charged with public-order offences (one also under the 1997 Act); a juvenile was referred to diversion. The charges are allegations only.
