Lagadikia accommodation site

Lagadikia accommodation site is a controlled temporary accommodation centre for people in the asylum procedure in the former Vogiatzoglou army camp at Lagadikia, in the Municipality of Lagkadas, about 35 km north-east of Thessaloniki. It is run by the Reception and Identification Service (RIS) of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum and is in use. The ministry's reply to a parliamentary question of 6 February 2026, as published by Refugee Support Aegean, gives a nominal capacity of 684 places, an actual capacity of 518 places and 336 residents at 31 December 2025. AIDA's table for June 2025 gives 572 places and 370 people.

Background
The Greek Ombudsperson noted in 2024 high concrete fences topped with barbed wire, and barbed wire separating the accommodation from the administrative buildings (AIDA).
