According to L'essentiel and LorActu (November 2017), the Blida camp near Metz city centre, which at its peak held over 800 asylum seekers, was dismantled and then reopened to rehouse around 130 asylum seekers (largely Albanian, Kosovar and Afghan families) after the local emergency-housing system became saturated.

According to France Bleu (8 November 2016), the camp of asylum seekers on avenue de Blida in Metz, then home to about 600 people, was evacuated from around 7 a.m., with occupants rehoused in hotels and emergency shelters across France.

According to France Bleu (15 November 2017), the Blida camp, which had reformed since April 2017, was evacuated as winter approached, with roughly 800 people registered and bussed to accommodation in around forty French towns; about 200 single adults remained in Metz in the former Lycée Poncelet.
