According to Unidivers (7 April 2025), around 174 migrants -- described as mostly asylum seekers rejected from the procedure, including families with children -- had been sheltering in the roughly 1,000 m2 Félix-Masson sports hall near Pontchaillou hospital since November 2024, many sleeping in tents or on the floor. The administrative court, seized by the City of Rennes over safety and sanitary risks, ordered the gymnasium evacuated by 21 March 2025.
