According to ICI / France Bleu (11 January 2023), the mayor of Callac announced on 11 January 2023 the abandonment of the contested 'Projet Horizon' refugee reception scheme, saying that while he personally backed it the project was 'no longer tenable' as the municipal council was about to collapse, after two far-right-organised demonstrations in 2022 and a series of harassment and death-threat complaints against elected officials.
