azc St.-Annaparochie (Middelweg-West)
In March 2025 the COA and the municipality of Waadhoeke announced measures after reports from Sint Annaparochie of nuisance involving young asylum seekers from the village's asylum seekers' centre, including unwanted behaviour towards girls on buses. Supervisors began travelling on local buses, and the COA said it was discussing whether the number of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers in the village could be reduced. The municipality also planned more joint activities with young people from other villages. The local residents' association said the situation caused unrest, and some shopkeepers said goods were being stolen. Omroep Zilt reported in November 2024 that the village had both a regular asylum seekers' centre and a reception for unaccompanied minors.

Cost
Dutch asylum reception is funded by central government through the COA. At an illustrative benchmark of about €80 per person per night for a regular centre, the 403 people recorded here on 13 August 2025 imply roughly €12m per year. This is an order-of-magnitude figure for context only, not a site-specific invoice, emergency reception typically runs around three times the cost of a regular centre.
