The authority designates this site for people displaced from Ukraine, recording it as a Flüchtlingsunterkunft (FU) rather than a Gemeinschaftsunterkunft for asylum seekers. People displaced from Ukraine hold temporary protection under the EU directive, a different legal route from asylum, with no asylum application and no reception-centre stage. On 31 December 2024 the state government put the nominal capacity here at 200 places, with 152 people living there. The building was previously the Elbotel. The city's security tender names Elbotel I at number 2 and Elbotel II at number 2a, matching the register's Haus 1 and Haus 2. The contract runs to the end of 2027, so the site was still in use.

Germany is federal: the Bund funds it, the Länder and municipalities run it. There is no national register, so this coverage starts city by city. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern publishes no accommodation geodata. What it publishes is a parliamentary answer, Landtag Drucksache 8/4572 of 4 March 2025, listing all 85 facilities that existed on 31 December 2024 with their capacity, occupancy and operator, but with no street and no coordinate.
